gROWING community AND faith

Dear Glow & Grace Community,
Welcome to the fourth edition of The Glow Letter.
October has been a busy month, but in a good way. There have been new opportunities, creative moments, personal growth and reasons to be grateful. I’ve had the privilege to reignite my creativity to do some music performances, launched my first collaborative event and have received positive feedback on my mentoring practice.
These experiences have been encouraging reminders that growth is happening, even when we don’t always recognise it in the moment.
But alongside everything I’ve been doing, I’ve noticed a deeper desire growing within me: the desire to draw closer to God, to nurture my relationships with the people I care for and to build a life that feels grounded in what truly matters.
Sometimes, when life gets busy, it’s easy to become so focused on what we’re building that we forget to ask what is sustaining us. We can have a full calendar and still feel unsure of where we’re going and sometimes it can feel like we are making progress but still need reassurance, direction and peace.
This month, I’ve been reminded of the importance of returning to my faith, not just when things are difficult but daily. I’ve also experienced the power of community. Being surrounded by people who share aspects of my faith and values has reminded me that we were never meant to navigate everything alone. There is strength in having people who encourage you, pray with you and remind you of what matters when you need it most.
I’ve also been reflecting on forgiveness, the importance of allowing our hearts to soften, releasing what we can, and making room for healing. Forgiveness isn’t always easy, and it doesn’t mean pretending that something didn’t hurt. Sometimes, it means choosing not to let hurt have the final say.
My giving ritual continued this month, although in a different form. I’m learning that generosity doesn’t require us to have everything figured out or to be without our own responsibilities. It asks us to remain attentive to the needs around us and to give what we can, whether thats financially, through prayer, compassion or wisdom.
If October has taught me anything, it is that we can pursue our goals, embrace new opportunities and build meaningful things while still making space for God, our relationships and community.
As we move into a new month, I hope you remember that we don’t have to carry everything alone. We can ask for support, make room for forgiveness, remain open to growth and trust God with the parts of our journey we cannot yet see clearly.
With love,
Tamara

This Month's Reflection
You Were Never Meant to Grow Alone
One thing October has reminded me of is the importance of having people around you who genuinely want to see you grow.
We often speak about independence, confidence and becoming self-directed, but I think it's equally important to recognise the value of mentorship, community and allowing ourselves to receive support. I've spent a number of years mentoring others, but I've also experienced the value of being mentored myself. I have a mentor, and when I reflect on my own journey, her encouragement, reassurance and wisdom have played an important role in my development. Having someone who can offer perspective, challenge your thinking and remind you of what you're capable of has been invaluable. In many ways, that experience has also strengthened my own dedication to building Glow & Grace. I'm reminded that growth is not always about having access to more resources. Sometimes, it's about having access to the right knowledge, conversations, experiences and people.
The networks and communities we build can open doors, broaden our perspectives and help us recognise opportunities we might not have seen on our own. There is real strength in sharing knowledge, learning from one another and celebrating each other's progress.
This doesn't mean that we should become dependent on others to determine our direction but, it reminds us that we can take responsibility for our own lives while remaining open to guidance, encouragement and support.
There is power in numbers. There is strength in community. And there is wisdom in recognising that we don't have to know everything or do everything alone. So, as you continue to work towards your goals, think about the people you are allowing into your journey. Who encourages you? Who challenges you to think differently? Who can you learn from? And just as importantly, who are you helping along the way?
Growth is not only about what we achieve individually. It is also about what we learn, share and build together.
A gentle reminder: Don't be afraid to seek mentorship, invest in meaningful relationships or become part of communities that encourage your growth. Sometimes, the right conversation can change the way you see your next step.
Reflection Questions
Id like to invite you to take ten quiet minutes this week to reflect on the following:
Where in my life do I need to trust God more and rely less on my own understanding?
Who helps me feel encouraged, grounded and connected to my values?
Is there something I need to forgive, release or approach with a softer heart?
Have I made enough room for my relationship with God and my family amid my other commitments?
Grace for the Month
Pray, Trust and Keep Showing Up
The following bible verses have stuck out to me this month:
1 Timothy 2:1–3 “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people…”
This verse reminds us of the importance of prayer, intercession and giving thanks for others.
Ephesians 1:16–20
“I have not stopped thanking God for you… I pray for you constantly”
This verse offers a beautiful prayer for wisdom, revelation, hope and a deeper understanding of God's power and is one that I will study and recite regularly.
This month, let these passages remind you to pray not only for your own direction, but also for your family, your community, your colleagues and the people around you.
You don't have to carry every concern alone. Make space to pray, seek wisdom and trust that you can keep taking the next step without seeing the entire path.
This Month's Intention
Stay Rooted. Remain Open. Keep Growing.
This month, make a conscious effort to:
Stay rooted by making time for prayer and reflection.
Remain open by practising forgiveness and nurturing meaningful relationships.
Keep growing by embracing opportunities without allowing busyness to disconnect you from what matters.
Give with intention by offering your time, kindness or resources where you can.
You don't need to do all of these perfectly. Choose one small action and practise it consistently.
This Month's Challenge
The Connection & Prayer Challenge
Over the next month, set aside a little time each week to do three things:
Pray intentionally for someone in your life, including yourself.
Reach out to a family member, friend, colleague or someone you would like to build a stronger connection with.
Give something whether that is encouragement, practical help, your time or a financial contribution within your means.
At the end of the month, reflect on what changed, what you learnt and how these small actions affected your relationships and your sense of connection.
Remember: meaningful change doesn't always come from grand gestures. Often, it comes from small things we choose to do repeatedly.

Before You Go
You don't need to have every answer. You don't need to carry every burden. And you don't need to walk every season alone.
Stay close to God. Nurture your community. Give yourself room to forgive, learn and begin again
